Answer-ETERNAL LIFE

How a person can have eternal life is one of the greatest questions in this world. Every religion has its approach to it, and almost every person has an opinion about it, but who is right? The question is answered by God in His Scriptures very clearly. There does not need to be any confusion about it. God is not confused, and He does not want mankind to be confused either.

Satan tries hard to get the world to believe that eternal life is gained through religious practices. The natural person seems to believe that it can be gained by doing good deeds, or by not doing any deeds that are too bad, but God says that eternal life is provided by Him as a gift through the person of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that people are lost, blind and condemned without salvation in Christ. They cannot help or save themselves. They need to be delivered from the power and penalty of sin and restored to God, and that is what Jesus came to do. How can a person receive Jesus Christ as Savior?

People not only have committed sin, they have inherited sin. Through Adam, the first man on earth, the sinful nature was passed down to every person. Every person is born a sinner, and God does not receive people as sinners; they must be saved from their nature.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”—CLICK-Romans 5:12  CLICK-II Corinthians 5:17

Every person on earth stands guilty before God for sinning against Him.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”—

CLICK-James 2:10

God does not have many laws; He has one law with many different aspects. Anyone who has broken His law at any point is guilty of the whole thing, and the penalty is eternal punishment in hell. The wages of sin are death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. CLICK-Romans 6:23

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which Burnett with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. CLICK-Revelation 21:8

“Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”—CLICK-Acts 20:21

Repentance deals with a person’s past; faith deals with a person’s future. The person who is holding on to his religion, or not allowing God to deal with his sin, cannot receive eternal life. Repentance brings a person to the place where he acknowledges the truth that he is a sinner, and needs to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

It is natural for people to try to dig themselves out of their sin by doing good deeds or adopting some religion, but that does not save them. Jesus is the only hope of salvation. A person must completely rely upon Him for eternal life.

“Behold the Lamb of God, which take away the sin of the world.”— CLICK-John 1:29

CLICK-John 1:12

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” CLICK-I John 5:11-13

The Lord is only a prayer away to those who are willing to receive Him. By calling on Him and confessing these things from the heart, asking for forgiveness and for Him to come to be one’s Savior is all God requires for a person to receive eternal life.
