Answer - Hell

The thought of hell being real and that there will be people going there is overwhelming to our minds. This is why people are tempted to deny that there is a place called “hell.” Some religions also teach that there is no such place to try to bring some comfort to people. What does God say in His Word? Let’s look at what the Bible says about this place and the reason for it:

The word “hell” as we use it these days comes from different words in the Bible. There are three aspects of it. There is the word "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". “This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.”—Strong’s Concordance. Secondly, we have the word “Hades.” “The nether world, the realm of the dead, later use of this word: the grave, death, hell” —Strong’s Concordance. And then there is “the lake of fire.” “If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. CLICK-Revelation 20:15

These are places that presently exist, but all are either symbolic or for the purpose of future punishment.

Luke 16 gives us a demonstration of what happens to those who reject God’s redemption after they die.

CLICK-Matthew 25:41 It was never God’s intent to send people to hell. He prepared the place for the Devil and his angels, but when people reject His salvation and choose wickedness instead of God, they choose the same place.

It is not that the punishment is eternal, but that there is no deliverance from the punishment. Those who go to hell cannot be saved from it anymore. Salvation from hell is only available until a person dies, after that the destination is determined without the choice to reconsider. CLICK-Hebrews 9:27, 28  not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.”

God uses the words “forever and forever” to describe the time in hell. Since people were created by God to exist eternally, they will either be with Him or be cast out of His presence forever and ever.

Even though the Bible teaches that punishment is according to our works

It is the natural will of a person to just live a life on this earth as peacefully and successfully as possible, without making any decisions about eternity; just believe and hope that it will all be okay. There are also religions that teach that a person does not have to make a decision and that a decision is still available after death, where we will be purged and others can pay and pray our way out of there. That is only religion, God does not say anything like that. However, escaping hell is only a decision away.

God said to Israel,

CLICK-Deuteronomy 30:19

Jesus said, Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. CLICK-John 5:24

If we repent, believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as our personal Savior, we are delivered from hell. It is not a scary thing if we believe, but it is the most awful, beyond-description thing for the unbeliever.

I surely hope that you will choose to believe and receive Jesus into your life.
