ANSWER—HOW TO ANSWER AN ATHEIST ABOUT GOD

Atheism is the belief that there is no God, and this is generally based on areas in life and creation where God just allows His laws, principles and consequences thereof function without Him directly interfering. For an example, if there is a God, then why does He allow bad things to happen. We must know that bad things are the consequences of the breaking of His laws and principles, not the absence of them. It is only God’s standards that make it to be bad. If He has not determined what is good or bad, then I can.

The meaning of “God” is supreme being. If there is no “Supreme being” higher than we as people, then we are “God” the supreme being. This would mean that we have full power and authority over all the universe, including ourselves. We could rule what we wanted to and completely satisfy ourselves whenever and however we choose to.

So, to answer the question, is there a God?

1. Look at creation,

the laws and principles that are within it. They demand order that is higher than what we can adhere to, and they demand submission or bring consequences. We must not use God’s established ways against Him or to disprove Him, for therein He is primarily revealed.

2. Look at yourself.

If we were God, then we would not have the question about there being one or not. The needs and questions in our lives prove that God is, and that He is completely above us. How can so many people have a desire for someone that does not exist? Anyone that wonders about God only declares that He is in need of Him. He has that question because there is room in his life for such an idea.

3. Look at God’s people,

true born-again children of God. A fake one does not testify of truth correctly, but true believers prove God over and over again. For an example, God answers my prayer, provides my needs, and transformed my life like He promised He would if I would believe in Him for my hope and salvation. He has provided my needs often in ways that were not humanly possible, neither did people know about them. This is because I believe.

4. Look at God.

Click-Hebrews 11:6 for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” It is truly only God Himself that confirms His existence and being. The idea about God comes from Him, it is not our idea of Him. It will all come to this one point, will a person come to God in faith believing that He actually is, and that He will do as He said. All who do so find Him.
