Answer-The Return of Jesus Christ

There are a number of aspects to Jesus’ coming again, and therefore there are many teachings and beliefs concerning the matter. What we must focus on is what the Bible says. First, we must note that there is the rapture, where Jesus will snatch His people from this world to meet Him in the sky to be carried into heaven. Secondly, Jesus will return to earth to set up His kingdom, ruling all the nations of the world through a kingdom established by Him with His people.

Things to consider:

Here is what the Bible says about the rapture.

Click-I Thessalonians 4:13-18

This is a passage that is written to believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. They believe that Jesus died and rose again, but it also notes that they are in Jesus. They have received Him into their lives as personal Savior and have been baptized into the body of Christ. First, those who have already passed from this physical life will rise, and then those who are alive on earth will meet the Lord in the clouds and be carried forth with Him.

As believers in Jesus Christ, the rapture is a hope for deliverance; it is something God’s people are supposed to continuously focus on and comfort each other with.

The passage continues in the next chapter, where it clearly distinguishes between those in Christ and the rest of the world.

God says that He will not tell us about the times, meaning when it will happen or what kind of times it will be, or the seasons, meaning what kind of conditions will align with Jesus coming in the clouds. But then He says that believers are not in darkness where the rapture will surprise them or catch them off guard. They are children of the light, meaning they will see it coming.

The question, is the rapture before the tribulation period, during or after, is often asked. Many believe that it will be before, but the Scriptures do not tell us that it will be. The Bible says that the return to earth will be after the tribulation period, and the Lord will come with His people at that time. Therefore, we can be sure it is between now and somewhere during the tribulation period.

It is very clear that the world is seeking a Savior, but most do not want Jesus Christ and will therefore choose the anti-Christ. The programs, the philosophies, the indoctrination in schools, and the social, health and security care programs the world is offering are all to support the way for a Savior to come. However, it is not Jesus Christ, but His enemy, the anti-Christ, and those who have Jesus as personal Savior will see that. They are children of the light.

We are not just to know about His coming, but to look for it and look forward to it. As believers, we should constantly think about and look for signs of Jesus’s return.

It is not like preparing for a wedding or a trip where one knows the time, but being prepared at all times for He will come at an unexpected time. Christians should continuously be getting ready for His coming, and unbelievers should come to Him for salvation at the first opportunity.

the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. Click-Luke 12:40-45

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For "HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. Click-I Corinthians 15:23-28

The most important message concerning the return of Jesus Christ and His kingdom is the matter of being a part of it. It is the ultimate division within the human race. We know that God will be in it and completely ruling it, and we know that the Devil and the fallen angels will be completely cast out of it. That is wonderful, but the human race will be divided. Some will be in, and others will be cast out with the Devil and his false prophets and angels. What is the division? It is not about being chosen for either or, but to make a choice to receive the Lord Jesus as personal Savior. John chapter 3 verses 1-8 are very significant concerning the matter of entering into God’s kingdom. It is a matter of being born again by the Spirit of God. Jesus said those who would not be born again would neither see the kingdom nor enter therein.
